Your trustee

Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation is trustee of CSS and licensed under the Corporations Act 2001 and regulated by the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 (SIS Act). Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation provides superannuation services and products to Australian Government employees and employers. Your trustee understands your employment conditions and aims to deliver consistent returns and useful superannuation services, all at a competitive cost to you.

Communication Superannuation Corporation is trustee of nine schemes:

Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation was established by the Governance of Australian Government Superannuation Schemes Act 2011 and is a body corporate, subject to the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997. Directors are appointed by the Minister for Finance and Deregulation, in accordance with the Governance of Australian Government Superannuation Schemes Act 2011.

Three Directors are nominated by the President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions; two Directors are nominated by the Chief of the Defence Force; and all remaining Directors chosen by the Minister. 

 

Trustee responsibilities

Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation is responsible for all aspects of CSS, including investment strategy, administration, keeping you informed about your CSS super through provision of regular member communications, and responding to enquiries, complaints and claims.

All responsibilities to you as a CSS member are set out in your CSS Product Disclosure Statement, Superannuation Act 1976 and other relevant legislation.

To provide you with a high quality service, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation is supported by an administrator, a custodian and other specialist providers, including leading Australian and international investment managers.
