July 2002 Pension Increase Advice Mail Out
The mail out of the July 2002 Pension Increase Advice Notice is expected to be completed on 9 July 2002.
Fortnightly Tax Deduction and Tax Rebate
This applies to you only if you purchased pension with your Post June 1983 contributions and/or funded productivity contributions.
In the past we advised the amount of your Post June 1983 contributions and the amount of your rebatable pension on your Payment Summary. You could claim these tax concessions at the end of the financial year through your income tax return.
Since 1 July 2002 ComSuper has been able to take into account these tax concessions each fortnight when making your pension payment. This change will give you the benefit of the tax concession each fortnight rather than having to wait till the end of the financial year.
We will continue to advise each year the amount of Post June 1983 contributions and the rebatable pension on your Payment Summary so that you can include this information on your income tax return.
If you do not wish to claim a tax deduction or a tax rebate on a fortnightly
basis, please write to us and we will amend your superannuation record
accordingly.
